The problem
Flooring does not price like retail. Customers buy area, suppliers sell boxes, and the two only meet after coverage, waste factor and product type have all had a say. On the legacy WooCommerce store that arithmetic lived in thousands of lines of bespoke theme code bolted onto the storefront, and 36,786 indexed URLs made a rewrite look like a ranking suicide note.
What we built
- 01
Built a box-rollup pricing engine that resolves room dimensions to linear feet, to boxes, to square footage, to a priced estimate — per product type, with waste factors applied before the box rollup rather than bolted on at checkout.
- 02
Indexed a catalogue of 118,651 rows, 117,873 of them live, and kept search usable across it.
- 03
Ingested and normalised twenty-plus supplier price lists into one schema, with density and weight calibration derived per category so freight quotes stop being guesses.
- 04
Mapped every one of the 36,786 URLs the old WooCommerce site served to a live destination before the DNS cutover, so no ranked URL became a 404 — over 23,000 of them 301 straight to the same product, and the rest to a search or brand landing the catalogue was checked to answer, 300 for 300 against production.
- 05
Wired real-time freight rating, plus Klarna, Afterpay and Affirm through Stripe so large-ticket orders have a financing path at the point of decision.
- 06
Shipped a dedicated mobile API — six-digit email sign-in, bearer tokens, push notifications — so the native Android client shares one source of truth with the web store.

Ideal for
Distributors and retailers replatforming a deep catalogue where price is a calculation, not a column — and years of search rankings are on the line.
