The problem

Commercial kitchen equipment is a quote business pretending to be a catalogue business. Buyers need specification help and freight numbers before they will commit; sellers are small distributors who will not adopt a platform that takes a week to join.

What we built

  1. 01

Implemented Stripe Connect Express so vendors complete their own onboarding and payouts settle automatically, with an escrow schedule between sale and release.

  2. 02

Built a quote-request flow that routes by product category and vendor, with transactional email and a tracked reply path rather than a shared inbox.

  3. 03

Ran competitor teardowns of the incumbent distributors and rebuilt the category and specification structure around how buyers actually search for equipment.

  4. 04

Wired five always-on automations — Stripe event router, form router, conversational assistant, knowledge-base seeder and the escrow cron.

  5. 05

Reused the storefront architecture proven on Shopflooring, so the second marketplace cost a fraction of the first.
